Madison, IN: Seamless, one-piece plastic agricultural tanks from Meese Orbitron Dunne Company (MOD) repel corrosion from fertilizer dust and resist degradation from ultraviolet (UV) light providing farmers and chemical and seed applicators with long-lasting, field tested protection from the dangerous leaks, spills and ruptures caused by the deterioration of welded steel tanks.

Rotomolded with a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), the one-piece tanks replace the joints, seals, solders, welds and threads that invite corrosion in stamped steel and sheet metal tanks with a single vessel of uniform wall thickness that is immune to contact with fertilizer dust and other corrosives.

Originally designed for Phenix Farms Industries, a distributor of farm machinery with a farm of its own, the MOD tanks have been approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and earned the ³Best Design Award² at the National Farm Machinery Show in 1995. According to MOD, the plastic tanks cost 50 to 60% less than their steel counterparts.

The rugged MOD tanks thrive in severe outdoor conditions, maintaining internal stability and structural integrity in temperatures ranging from 30š below zero to 165šF. The tanks accommodate either 4,000 lbs. of fertilizer or 3,000 lbs. of seed under pressures up to 3 PSI.

The MOD tanks may be custom designed to suit nearly any shape, configuration, capacity or specification. As a partner in proprietary designs, confidentiality is assured in all phases of product development.
