MOD Engineers Design Interactive P-O-P That Ships In One Box, Pre-Wired And Assembled For Immediate Display

Eliminates Costly, On-Site Mis-Assembly

Modroto POP DisplayThose teenagers working in Home Depot not only frustrate shoppers but also product designers and manufacturers. What could be worse than investing three years of your life developing a product and scoring a deal with a big box retailer only to have their careless employees wreck it during assembly?

This is more common and more costly than anyone wants to admit, according to Bob Dunne, general manager, rotomolding for Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., who helps manufacturers avoid on-site assembly entirely. Dunne and his team of engineers frequently redesign products with fewer parts to eliminate the need for assembly. In other cases, Dunne oversees the assembly process at the factory and ships the product ready for immediate installation on the retail floor.

For a major building products manufacturer, Dunne devised and developed a point-of-purchase lighting display that ships in a single container, fully assembled and ready for immediate installation on the retail floor. Featuring an interactive presentation of nearly a dozen different lighting fixtures and push-buttons, the MOD display is pre-wired and tested to ensure assembly and operation meet the building product company's specifications while eliminating the costly, on-site assembly and mis-assembly that had been plaguing labor-strapped retailers.

The MOD display boasts a rugged base rotomolded from linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) in a single unit with multiple openings in various sizes to accommodate the diverse range of lighting products to be inserted. The base is crack- and scuff-proof and maintains its brand's color despite the constant punishment of the retail home center environment. Graphics are placed prominently at the top and bottom of the display to catch consumer attention and leverage the building product company's name brand awareness.
